Autofill Firefox Quantum: What You Should Know
Autofill (in Firefox) is one of the best features of Firefox. It is also one of the last things you need to learn or be familiar with to truly enjoy Firefox. With its easy-to-use interface, you can fill in your entire address book, save your favorite contacts, add websites for searching and preview, and much more. While you might not use Autofill on a daily basis, it is a great complement to the other features of Firefox that I've listed above. I've been using Autofill in Thunderbird, Firefox, Firefox Marketplace, and other add-ons for over a year now that I have on Autofill. While it isn't particularly powerful or useful by itself, when it adds to the other features it can offer, it becomes indispensable. The more I've learned about it, the more I love it. But I do have one little grievance in regard to Autofill. When I am in Autofill, and I've filled in my email address, I sometimes have to go back in on a new page and type in a different email address. Once I do that, I can't go back to the address I just created since I already have the email. With a few quick and simple tricks, this has no problem being solved. So I'm giving an update about this and I hope the autofill problem will go away soon. The fix is relatively simple. All you need to do is add the address you want to keep, the name of your account, then save all of those settings in your account information. Then go to your account preferences and make sure Autofill is enabled. From there, set your new address as the default for all new emails. A lot of us would be able to go back to this old email address when we get signed in for the first time, but it would be convenient to autofill as well. The reason I give this update was because the Thunderbird team has recently announced that they will be dropping access to the autofill function in the future. In their support article it's stated that Autofill will be removed completely (thereby removing any way to save a lot of time) in the future.
